Turmeric Facials!!!

I'm a little bit obsessed with turmeric facials.  Like no joke, they are so easy, and I feel so rejuvenated when I use them.  I am kind of obsessed with face masks and skin care in general, especially with natural remedies, so if you have any favorites, please please message email/message me!  (See my instagram for my email! @dates.on.the.peach.
Here is what I use for my turmeric face mask.  Super easy:

*roughly a tsp or so of turmeric
*2 spoonfuls of plain Greek yogurt (no sweeteners, vanilla flavored, etc).

I didn't measure exactly, and I did end up dumping in more turmeric than I originally planned to (it was in a sprinkler container which makes it easy).  You just stir it around, and then apply it to your face.  I recommend washing your face before, or at least rinsing it off with warm water and DRYING it before you put it on.  Otherwise it might be a bit of a mess.  Anyways, I hope you love it as much s I do, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Here's some pictures.  Yes, it looks like a desert all dried but, but my skin feels amazing!  Also, sorry I can't smile here - as with most masks, it's had to express much emotion.  Lol.

Grass-Fed Collagen Peptides!

I have heard about Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides for a while, but didn't actually start to use them until recently.  Totally worth the buy.  I only recommend products that I think work for me, and this is one of them.  I've noticed a significant difference in my skin within a few weeks!  I feel like my skin looks more full and glowy.  Collagen is important for hair, skin, and nails!
I've had a bad habit since I was younger in biting my fingernails.  It was because it was a bad habit, and also grew to be something I would turn to in cases of bad anxiety.  I also hated seeing my nails starting to chip and felt like they weren't super strong.  For the first time in 2 years, my nails are healthy and strong, and I haven't bitten them in weeks.  I would recommend buying it off amazon or at your local Whole Foods/Sprouts store.
It's still two days away, but I'll say it now and tomorrow - Merry Christmas everyone!  Again, feel free to message me at emilytayva@gmail.com

Carrot Cake Donuts!

Holiday baking is literally the best!  Mostly because it's pumpkin season and I love everything pumpkin.  I haven't loved baking in the recent years, but trying out paleo recipes is kind of a new hobby lately.  It's fun to find out healthier alternatives for things that I love!!  I meet with my health coach a few times each month, and she gave me this recipe that we made together.  I am a huge fan of carrot cake, but these donuts had me so excited!
Here's the main recipe, from rachlmansfield.com:

Wet Ingredients:
3/4 c. shredded carrots
1/3 c. coconut oil, melted and cooled.
2 Tbsp raw honey
2 eggs at room temperature
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/3 c. creamy/drippy nut butter

Dry Ingredients:
1 and 1/4 c. almond flour
1 tsp. baking powder

Add in's:
1/2 c. walnuts
shredded coconut

Optional: frosting of choice.  My friend made a delicious recipe that consisted of vanilla plant based protein powder, coconut yogurt, bit of honey, and almond milk.  I don't have specifics quite yet.  I will soon! :)

Less Guilty Brownie Bites!

I am not even kidding when I say how good these things are.  I have a HUGE sweet tooth and these brownie bites totally satisfy it.  They are only sweetened with Medjool dates!  Grain-free, vegan, paleo, and dairy free.  You can definitely modify it.  I found a recipe a while back, but I've since changed it a bit myself, so here is the recipe that I use!

10 Medjool dates
Pinch of sea salt
3 Tbsp. Cacao powder
1/2 tsp. Vanilla
1/2 c. Walnuts
1/2 c. Almond butter

You can use the walnuts and almond butter interchangeably, it really just depends what you prefer!  Almond is a little easier to mix up in the food processor obviously, but I've done it with both and they both taste good!  I usually start by putting the dates (make sure they have been pitted, those can cause problems in food processors :/) in a bowl of water, and microwave them/heat them over the stove for about a minute.  They get softer, and if there are any remaining pits, they're easy to remove.  Set them aside.
Add the nuts/nut butter, vanilla, cacao powder, and sea salt to the food processor.  Once the dates have cooled a little bit, go ahead and add them too.  Mix them in the food processor until you get a brown cookie-dough-like dough.  Roll into balls and you can garnish them however you'd like!  I rolled them in shredded coconut when I made these that are pictured, and they were way good!  You could melt chocolate and put it on top even if you wanted!  If you come up with any ideas, please message/email me!  I'd love to hear them! :)
